Nate Zhuno

With a site like this I believe that it is very important for people to be aware of exactly who is responsible for the information presented. I believe that it should be people’s first priority to ascertain the experience, knowledge and motives behind someone who provides health information.

I am a person who is scientific in their approach to health. A professional methodology is to verify sources of information before you choose to accept them. The best way of doing that is to find out who wrote them. This is important due to the amount of marketing rubbish filling up the Internet.

My name is Nate Zhuno… That is a pen name but the first part is from my real name; Nathan. For the sake of this site and future communication the name Nate Zhuno should be used. I am not hiding anything by using a pen name; it is just a nick name.

I have studied nutrition for years and I am currently studying at a university in UK. I am somebody who pays great attention to detail and someone who finds out how accurate a source of information is. I am interested in what works and not just what sounds right or good.

My original vocation was engineering. That involves mostly physics, as opposed to biological and chemical science but above all I am mostly scientific in my approach to health. There is a time and a place for philosophical opinion, but above all, health is about understanding biological science.

I am also someone who walks the walk! I don't just talk and write about health; I live healthily and have a body and physiology to prove it. I have not always been so healthy so I know what it means to be unhealthy. I have been close to being clinically obese and have possibly actually been obese at times. It is difficult to give affirmations of things like that because we don't always go out of our way to make the calculations necessary to work out such details.

A bit more about me as a person…

I am currently working my way towards professional registration within the health profession in the UK. As you may be aware that involves doing a great deal of work within the biological and chemical scientific areas. This is because I appreciate the importance of taking a scientific approach when dealing with nutrition and health. If it is not scientific then it is just “hypothesis,” hearsay or lies… and there is a plentiful amount of all three within the nutrition industry; especially weight loss!

I believe that it is very important to immerse yourself in a subject which you wish to specialise in. It has often been said by various family members that I seem to be very "one track minded"... as if there is something wrong with that! Those who go forward in the world are the ones who dedicate their lives to something that they believe in. I have dedicated my life to the understanding of human nutrition and I am very glad that I have. I don't wish to be in the dark over my health and nor should you. My aim is to convert the complex subject of nutrition into a form that the vast majority can understand.

One of the most important things about me is that I have lived life fully! I have made mistakes like every real person. I have failed at things many times in my life! Why? It is because I give myself the opportunity to fail because I seek out new pastures and never settle for second best. When I fail I pick myself back up and move on... failure is just the process of learning.

I have quit many things in my life! Why? It is because I am not perfect and I have often chosen the wrong path. If I find that I have gone down the wrong path then I don’t just carry on regardless. To do the same thing and expect different results is pure madness. The key is to understand what to quit and when.

I have been depressed in the past and I have been anxious; I have sometimes felt like ending it all… however, I have moved upwards all the time. I have always found a way out of that pit of despair. I keep powering on no matter what life throws at me. I will not give up even when it appears that I have reached “the top” of my game.

One of the main things that has helped me to understand how to keep moving on is to know where to apportion the blame. I know that all of my problems spring from myself. I take full responsibility for my mistakes and failings. That puts ME in control of MY life. That is the attitude of success and I strongly recommend it to everyone.

A Humble Beginning...

I was Born 1975 in a British military hospital to British parents. My father was in the UK forces.

I was brought up in a relatively large family (5 children) in a working class environment. We were not spoilt but we were not neglected as such. Unfortunately I had a fairly miserable and unhappy childhood filled with negativity and pain. I was taught some good principles however.

I believe many people could say that their family was dysfunctional but they do not have anything by which to gauge their family by. I could possibly suggest that my family was very average. We were not rich but we were not destitute. I say all this just so that you can see that I have had a fairly humble upbringing. I believe that the vast majority will easily relate to what is contained on this site.

Early on in my life I began to develop a desire to rise above what is known as “average”. I was most certainly not one of the high achievers at school however. I just had a desire to be at peace with myself and to feel a level of fulfilment. This is because my view of the average person was one of despair and negativity. You could maybe say it was because my view of the world was coloured but I don’t think so.

My Methodology and my approach to life’s problems…

I was brought up within a fairly rigid religious background… maybe it would be best for me not to go into too much detail but let’s just say; I am not a part of that religion now. If there is any institute that I would adhere to vaguely then it would be that of Yoga. I believe in harmony with nature and not fantastic stories of the past or the supernatural. What matters is what is in the present and what is in the present changes constantly. If rules are to be set then they must be valid or else they can do more harm than good.

I respect all members of the various religions (as long as they do not disrupt other people’s lives by enforcing their beliefs onto them). We live in a world of logic and therefore we should accept logic as the way to true peace. With all due respect to religious philosophy, the true path to peace does not involve segregating ourselves into groups. Harmony with nature is to do with acceptance of its simplicity.

Also… the world is what you make it. If you make your world illogical then it will become illogical. Science does not have the answer to everything but it is used as a way of providing proof of certain actions. Where nutritional health or any other kind of health is involved we must use a scientific approach.

The Student...

All in all I am a lifelong student of self improvement and self help. What I learn... I intend to pass on.

Health is the number 1 factor that you should concern yourself with before moving on to anything else! Before seeking fortune, before setting out to find the your perfect partner. Good health is like the foundations of a building. If those foundations are weak then that whole structure can tumble down.
